Beer Review: Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout

Serving Type: Draft

ABV: 10 percent

Appearance: I don't think I've ever seen a stout darker and blacker than this one. It looks like it is oil freshly pumped from the ground. It has a bubbly, tan head with weak retention which disappears after a few sips of the beer.

Smell: Black Chocolate smells a bit like alcohol with some chocolate and coffee lingering closely behind it. Very potent.

Taste: If you remember those mini Hershey snack bars your grandparents served over the holidays, think of the dark chocolate ones. That's the best way to describe this beer. Very thick and chocolaty. I almost wanted to have it warm.

Overall Rating:

One of the first beers I reviewed on here was Wells and Youngs' Double Chocolate Stout. It looks like I now have a good buddy to pair it with.
