Beer Review: Sixpoint Autumnation

Serving Type: Can (This is probably the first can review I've done!)

ABV: 6.7 percent

Appearance: Autumnation pours a bright, gleaming orange color which instantly reminded me of pumpkins. The beer is also a bit murky, which isn't a typical characteristic of the fall seasonal beers I've tried. The head looks somewhat white, somewhat tan and has decent retention.

Smell: I was surprised to smell a rush of hops with Autumnation. I usually expect cinnamon, spices, ginger or pumpkin with this type of beer.

Taste: The print on the can says that you'll experience all kinds of pumpkin and ginger, which leads you to believe that you're in for a sweet experience. The beer is more hoppy than it is sweet. Tastes a bit sharp on the tongue.

Overall Rating:

Even though the can kind of misleads the drinker, still a decently tasting beer. If you've ever wanted a pumpkin IPA, this brew is pretty close to fulfilling that fantasy of yours.
