I think I've hit the breaking point for buying a case of beer. Over the last year I've bought myself a case of Sam Adams Octoberfest, Hacker Pschorr Wiess and Bluepoint Blueberry Ale. Now I've been working on a case of Great Lakes Commodore Perry IPA Suffice to say, I eventually got tired of working my way through each of these cases.
Good beer, but there's just too much. |
No matter how good you think a beer is, it gets kind of old when you're working your way through a case of it. I'm interested in knowing if some of you feel the same way. I know plenty of people wait all year for beers like Troegs Nugget Nectar to hit the shelves of your local beer distributor. Doesn't it get old half way through a case of it?
I've began to grow more partial to getting a case of a sampler pack. For us craft beer folk, there isn't anything more adventurous than being able to try multiple types of beers. I think that sampler packs make that possible for us in our own homes instead of heading to your local watering hole.
Really, what better way is there to try multiple types of beer from a single brewery and be able to experience a good portion of what their selection has to offer? Even if you really enjoy one or two of the beers in the sampler you usually have one or two more of that type to drink in the future. It's a win-win situation.
It's starting to get to the point of only needing a six pack if I'm in the mood for a small session of the same beer.
