Summer: Beer's Best Season

I was scanning a few articles on CraftBeer.com and came across one about craft brews and one of the Summer season's top munchies: the cheeseburgerSometimes there's nothing like throwing a couple meaty patties on the grill and pouring yourself some liquid heaven.

I was barely through the first paragraph when I wholeheartedly agreed with a point in the article. It stated that Summer is one of the best seasons for the craft beer world. Amen to that. I've been a staunch believer that there's nothing too exciting about the darker Christmas and Winter brews that we see on our local taps during the latter parts of the year. To me, most of them don't differ from each other. They're dark, strong, boozy and loaded with spices.

I think that a lot of the Summer beers have much more variety to them. Most of the seasonals make use of a variety of fruits. there are beers with fruit and wheat and there are some with fruit and a ton of hops. A good number of them are perfect and refreshing after a long, hot day. It's an awesome and adventurous time of the year.

Plus, if you enjoy many Summer beers then you get to look forward to the Fall and Thanksgiving seasonal beers. When the leaves are changing colors and the air becomes a bit nippier, I'm always in the mood for a thick and spicy pumpkin ale. There has been a recent trend of some seasonal brews being released earlier than normal, but if you can snag a case for yourself you can always store it until it's the opportune moment to consume said beer.

At least for me, this is the prime of the beer season and it rolls right into another interesting one. This is just a random thought post for today. I'll be right back to the beer reviews starting tomorrow morning!
